This qualification has been designed to support an individual's entry into the teaching/training industry, and is aimed specifically at those wishing to be employed in the outdoor learning sector.  The qualification itself has been developed to meet the national Minimum Core Standards for Teacher Training Qualifications for the Further Education and Skills Sector  and to encompass teaching practices for those with disabilities.

 

Delivery

Topics covered include roles and responsibilities, legislation, inclusive teaching, theories, principles and models of teaching, learning, communication and assessment, pedagogical principles.

 

Features

Studying this course will enable a learner to

  • plan and deliver sessions to groups of learners, 
  • plan a scheme of work,
  • undertake a research project into teaching those with disabilities,
  • develop their teaching practice to teach those with disabilities.

 

Requirements

To undertake this qualification, delivery of a minimum of 100 hours of teaching practice is required, with observation of some of these sessions.  Access to groups of learners and real-life teaching practice is therefore required.
