ITC Emergency First Aid for Dogs

This short qualification is regulated by SQA Accreditation

This qualification covers skills and knowledge to help you manage situations where a dog requires emergency action.  The vet ambulance does not come to you!

 

Content

Normally delivered over half a day (3-hours), topics include:

Know your dog, weekly health checks, managing an incident, checking and understanding vital signs, dealing with unconsciousness, CPR, drowning, choking, bleeding, injuries, shock, restraints, carrying and moving techniques and dealing with an aggressive/confused dog.

Progression

It is the first unit of a two unit qualification.  If you have an interest or business associated with dogs ITC will support you delivering these qualifications for your own client groups.

  • Progressive, practical, contextual skill development.
